KWU offers Health & Physical Education Programs for K-12 and PreK-12, with emphases in either Health or Physical Education. Additionally, students who major in Music Education can choose an emphasis in either instrumental or vocal.
Teacher Licensure
KWU offers a teacher licensure program for those individuals who have previously earned a bachelor’s degree or higher and wish to become licensed to teach in that subject area.
Special Education Endorsement
Through cooperative arrangements with other member colleges in the Associated Colleges of Central Kansas (ACCK), students who are majoring in education may meet an added endorsement requirement for teaching adaptive special education at the K-6 and/or 6-12 levels. Candidates who wish to have an endorsement in special education must first have a license in elementary and/or secondary education. The special education courses are offered primarily online through the ACCK center located in McPherson, Kansas. Enrollment in these courses is made at Kansas Wesleyan University.
Note: All coursework for this endorsement can be completed during a regular 4-year program.
